About Us
Our Ethos
The ethos at RGR Search & Select is simple; to deliver high quality candidates into high quality opportunities at a reasonable price.
Working independently, as well as together with other small consultancies and associates from time to time, RGR can remain lean and quick-footed while still having access to a database of nearly 30,000 specialist candidates. The virtual model frees up time for us to concentrate on the important things. Building long-term relationships with candidates and clients takes time - and takes time to bear fruit - and cannot happen if the emphasis is on delivering to short term 'quarterly' goals. Our candidate network is our most important asset - and our approach has built it. Candidates respect our integrity and clients the consequential quality of the candidates we can provide.
Our Focus
Our specialisms divide by role and technology. Concentrating primarily on sales, presales and marketing personnel - although we are now increasingly being asked to find candidates for more technical post-sales and development roles - we have come to specialise in recruiting for software companies in the telecoms (OSS/BSS), networking and security sectors. As a specialist search and select consultancy we are able to source high quality candidates to VP level across EMEA. We have worked for larger companies like Nortel, ADC and Micromuse (now IBM) as well as smaller pre-IPOs where we have established a reputation for helping to assemble high quality teams from scratch. For further details of our previous work and client and candidate references check out our Clients & Candidates pages.
Our Method
The one thing you will not get as a client from RGR is a pile of CVs. We believe that fewer is better. In talking to our clients we know that they find nothing more frustrating than recruiters who present them with quantities of candidates – most, if not all, of whom are completely inappropriate for the role. So we do the job you are paying us to do: finding and interviewing candidates and assessing their fit and then presenting a balanced portfolio of CVs to our clients for consideration. At RGR we listen – very carefully. We ask questions too. Then we listen again. Understanding what a client wants usually means more than reading a brief or specification for a particular role. At RGR we like to work closely with hiring managers themselves to understand their personal take on the role and the person they would want to fill it ideally. People hire people and making sure we understand the ethos and culture of a company and the people doing the hiring is an important step in ensuring we present only the candidates that clients want to interview.
And we are loyal too. Our clients often result from personal reference and we will only work with those companies we like - how could we honestly persuade candidates to work for clients we don't trust? And then we stick with them; building long term relationships which help us really understand their needs and offer advice on their future recruitment strategies. So whether it's a VP to start-up EMEA sales operations or a professional services consultant for an established team, RGR can help you fulfil your recruitment goals quickly, efficiently and at a reasonable cost.
